Meet Dr. Erica Lee

Hello! I’m Dr. Lee and I’m the founder of Erica Lee Counseling. I’m a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and EMDR-trained clinician serving individuals in Washington, DC.

I received my doctorate in Counseling at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. I have experience working with kiddos and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, life transitions, and attachment-related issues in both the inpatient and private practice settings. Prior to starting my private practice, I also worked as a clinical supervisor at GW’s Community Counseling Services Center (CCSC), teaching Master’s level students in their practicum year. Additionally, I served as the Program Coordinator for the Care for Creatives Program (C4C) at the CCSC, a program that offers solution-focused short-term therapy to DC artists affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

I’m a holistic-minded therapist who finds value in exploring various parts of a person’s life. I believe family dynamics, childhood experiences, social connections, and cultural background all play a significant part in shaping who you are.

My approach involves taking a closer look into family of origin and life experiences to see how it has influenced a person’s development and ability to connect with others, while also teaching skills that can help a person lead a more fulfilling life with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) modalities. If it’s the right fit, we can explore how EMDR can benefit you as well!

I have a passion for supporting individuals facing a variety of challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma and stressor-related issues, attachment and relationship issues, adjustment, and Borderline Personality Disorder.

No Surprises Act

  • On January 1, 2022, the “No Surprises Act” went into effect. This is designed to show an estimate of expected charges for medical services provided by your provider.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE), which includes expected costs related to your treatment. (Note: GFE is a not a bill)

  • Health care professionals are required to provide current and potential clients a GFE in writing (paper or electronic). You may also ask your healthcare provider for a GFE before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400.00 more than your GFE, you can dispute the bill. Visit http://www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 368-1019 for more information.

  • Make sure you save a copy or picture of your GFE.
